Student Success Program

The Student Success Program offers a series of innovative programs for students who require remedial courses. These innovative programs are Freshman Learning Blocks, Summer Success Program, and January / June Workshops. These programs allow students to move faster from remedial to credit bearing courses. Tutoring and peer mentoring is incorporated as a tool to further assist students.

Summer Success Program (SSP)

The Summer Success Program offers free developmental courses in basic skills for entering freshman and continuing first-year students. Most courses are designed to assist students in passing the CUNY Basic Skills Examinations. This program provides small classes, tutoring and computerized learning labs.

Registration Information

Students can inquire from their academic advisor or Student Development Counselor if they are eligible for the Summer Success Program. Entering Freshman and transfer students will be invited to New Student Registration days during summer, 2012. Students will be advised as to their options for free courses and workshops

January/June Workshops

January / June Workshops are designed to strengthen academic skills in the areas of English, Math, and ESL as students seek to move out of remedial courses and pass the CUNY Examinations. These workshops utilize varying time frames and pedagogical models based on student needs.
