Andre Christie will receive his Associate in Science degree from Bronx Community College next month, days after returning from South Africa, where he is studying health care for the poor. The day after Commencement, he will fly down to Bethesda, Maryland, to work beside medical researchers at the National Institutes of Health. A month after that, he’ll transfer to New York University, the next step in his dream of becoming a doctor.

June 4, 2014—Fatal Assistance, director Raoul Peck's powerful and critically-acclaimed documentary on the tragic failure of international relief efforts to assist Haiti in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake, will be screened in Bronx Community College's Gould Memorial Library, on Friday, June 13th at 4 p.m. The college is located at 2155 University Avenue in the Bronx.

The Class of 2014 gathered on Ohio Field at 10:00 a.m. Three hours and forty-six minutes later they were BCC’s newest alumni. In between, they received diplomas and well-deserved kudos from BCC President Carole M. Berotte Joseph.
