CUNY Campaign

A Message from the Campaign Chair

Dear Friends and Colleagues

Thanks to last year’s unprecedented level of support, Bronx Community College is the 2013 CUNY Campaign champion, outpacing all other CUNY schools in terms of faculty and staff participation rates. Your generosity and commitment surpassed our expectations and have gone far to help vital charitable organizations throughout the metropolitan area and beyond, receive the resources they need to be effective.

It’s a great honor for me to serve as this year’s BCC CUNY Campaign Chair, and I look forward to another exciting and goal-busting fundraising season as the 2014 drive begins on Tuesday, October 7th.

The CUNY Campaign for Voluntary Charitable Giving is a long-standing University tradition, making it convenient for all of us to donate, via payroll deductions, to any of several hundred nonprofit agencies of our choosing. This year, we also will have the option of giving back to worthy projects and programs that contribute so much to the well-being of our college family. When you select code #13180 on the Campaign donation form you can support the following Bronx Community College projects:

  • The BCC Early Childhood Center: Our accredited, on-campus, pre-school center provides our student-parents with access to affordable, high quality childcare while they are attending classes. Your support can help the center expand and improve its offerings.
  • The BCC Student Emergency Fund: This new initiative will be another much-needed source of quick-response emergency grants to matriculated students in good academic standing who are facing a short-term financial hardship. The goal of the BCC Student Emergency Fund is to give students additional financial support that can help them remain in school at a time of crisis.

Whether you choose to target your donations to the College or to another charitable organization of your choice, I hope that I can count on you to help us reach this year’s goal of 100 percent campus participation. Every member of our campus community has a role to play in helping us achieve this ambitious objective. Every dollar counts. Now through December 5, campaign representatives in each division will be reminding you to make your pledge to donate. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
