The Career Development Office (Loew Hall, 319-328) offers enrolled students and recent alumni, services and resources that enhance their career and employment opportunities. The department offers ongoing workshops, on campus recruitment with employers, and direct referrals for employment and internship placements. Job postings for full and part-time positions are updated and regularly.
The Cooperative Work Experience Program allows students to gain valuable work experience related to their field of interest prior to graduation. Most students receive credit or a pay incentive.
Our Career Resource Library has a collection of audio and visual tapes, and a variety of other career development resources that enhance students interviewing and job readiness skills. Students are able to use new computers for resume writing, and utilize a new computerized career and employment guidance program (Choices Planner) to research occupations related to their interest, skills and abilities.
The office offers students access to several job banks on the Internet, including civil service employment opportunities for city, state and federal jobs. These resources are located in the new Career Development Mini-Computer Lab located in Loew Hall, room 332. Please visit the Career Development Office in Loew Hall, room 319 or contact us at: (718) 289-5908 or via e-mail at: career@bcc.cuny.edu for more information. |
