POISED for Success (Perfect Opportunity for Individual Skills and Educational Development) is an HRA funded CUNY Program providing publicly dependent women 3-5 months pregnant or with young children educational opportunities which prepares or advances them in academic skills, parenting and health, computer skills, job readiness and workplace literacy. POISED for Success has three components: POISED I (13 weeks) where basic skills are emphasized, POISED II (12 weeks) consisting of concurrent job search for two days per week and work experience (WEP) three days per week, and POISED-at-Home, where students exempt from mandatory participation in a work experience program because they are 8 months pregnant or have a child up to nine weeks of age, receive basic skills and case management in the home.
