Hurricane and Earthquake Relief Efforts Initiative
Over the past few weeks, we have seen the devastation that Hurricanes Irma, Jose, Katia, and Maria have caused along the Caribbean Islands as well as the impact of a 7.1 earthquake in Mexico. In support of the community, Bronx Community College is collecting financial and material donations.
2 weeks, Monday September 25 - Sunday October 8
Bronx Community College has established a fund for charitable donations to assist in the aftermath of the tragedy. Financial contributions can be made in cash or via check or money order to the Office of the Bursar located in Colston Hall, main level. The money collected will be distributed equally to reputable organizations serving areas in the most need.
Collection of in-kind donations, specifically hygienic products and toiletries such as soap, feminine products (i.e. tampons), and wipes.
Drop off Locations:
The in-kind donations will be transported to local Bronx organizations involved in hurricane and earthquake relief.
The Office of Personal Counseling has our doors open and available for anyone who has been affected by the recent and tragic hurricanes and earthquake. Our clinicians are here to provide support services and any referrals to our BCC students. If you are experiencing any feelings of loss, upset, or any duress, please know that you are not alone. Please contact us at (718) 289-5223 or drop in at the main office in Loew Hall 430. We are available for support during evening hours on Tuesdays through Thursdays.
I would like to thank Dr. Monique Guishard and Edwin Roman for assisting in coordinating this initiative.
