BCC’s smallest scholars shine at the graduation ceremonies of the Early Childhood Center
In this season of Commencements, the smallest scholars of Bronx Community College finally had their chance to shine. On June 21, BCC’s Early Childhood Center celebrated the graduation of 19 four-year-olds, whose mothers and fathers attend classes elsewhere on the campus.
“Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another,” said Jitinder Walia, director of the ECC. “We are so proud of these children and the parents who persisted in their success. Our teachers simply said ‘We cannot say goodbye to those whom we have grown to love, for the memories we have made will last a lifetime, and will never know a goodbye.’ President Isekenegbe and Vice President Irene Delgado had sweet messages for the graduates and their families, who were teary-eyed watching the little ones perform and get ready to move on to kindergarten.”
The Early Childhood Center provides a learning preschool environment in which traditional and contemporary styles of teaching are carefully integrated. It is licensed by the New York City Department of Health and accredited by National Association for the Education of Young Children.
