  • How can Faculty/Staff Request Long Distance Access Code?

To apply for a long distance telephone access code, please download or print out the form click here. Fill in the information and return the completed/signed form to the Office of Administration & Finance, South Hall 211. Information Technology Help Desk personnel will notify you within five business days of their receipt of your request.

  • I am having trouble hearing my phone. What should I do?

If you have problems hearing on your phone, it may be necessary to exchange the handset for a new one. Please submit a work order to the help desk by clicking on this link.

  • How do I report a problem with my phone instrument?

The Information Technology Help Desk Service Request is located at the rear of the College Phone Directory. Please describe your problem with your phone as completely as possible. Completed forms may be faxed to Information Technology Fax machine ext 6331. If you need forms or additional assistance, call the Help Desk at extension 5970.

  • How do I call forward my phone?
  • To forward calls to another extension:
    1. Obtain dial tone.
    2. Press *4, and enter the extension number where you want to forward the calls,
    3. Listen for service tone (multiple intermittent beeps)
    4. Hang up.
  • How do I cancel call forwarding?

To cancel call forwarding:

  1. Obtain the dial tone.
  2. Press #4 and listen for the service tone (3 short beeps) Forwarding is cancelled, please hang up.
  • What does it mean when I make a long distance call and I need an "authorization code"?

When making a long distance call you may need an authorization code to complete your call. This will occur when you have called outside your normal permitted calling range for that extension. Long distance authorization codes require a special form, located at click here. Fill in the information and return the completed/signed form to the Office of Administration & Finance, South Hall 211. Information Technology Help Desk personnel will notify you within five business days of their receipt of your request.

  • How do I correct my entry in the BCC telephone directory?

For modifications of contact information for your department including, for example, the addition of a new staff member; an employee who is no longer in your area; a change in a current staff member’s room number, telephone extension or title; a change in a department’s fax number; or a change in the name of a department or office a Directory Correction form must be filled out. Please note that there is room for four (4) changes on each form, and you may use as many forms as needed.

  • How do I get a copy of the BCC telephone directory?

For anyone who needs a copy of the directory, please go to http://www.bcc.cuny.edu/Search/?page=home and click on "Download the Telephone Directory." (You can also access this page by clicking on the Phone Directory link, located at the bottom of the BCC home page.) You can also search for faculty and staff using the online directory search option.

  • How do I get a display phone?

At the current time there are no display units available.
