Solar Energy Training for Building Contractors, Engineers and
Those Considering a Career Change

Learn how to install and maintain photovoltaic (“PV” or sunlight to electricity) panels

The Center for Sustainable Energy at Bronx Community College, in collaboration with NY Design at LaGuardia Community College (Long Island City) and NY City Tech (downtown Brooklyn) offers Introductory, Advanced and Intro/Adv PV courses.  The Introductory and the Advanced courses are 20 hours, including 8 hours of hands-on lab.  The Intro/Adv course is 30 hours with 16 hours of hands on.  (click here to see syllabi). 

The training is delivered by NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (http://www.nabcep.org) certified installer, Jonathan Lane of Quad State Solar, Inc. (http://www.quad-state-solar.com)

The courses cover:

• The latest photovoltaic technologies, cost analysis, sizing, building/zoning code issues, opportunities for financial PV purchases
• Hands on lab with PV and inverter technology and mounting methods
