ATTAIN lab is a students’ HUB

There was a time, when students ‘did not have time’ to go to the computer lab. Or, students sat in the lab with a blank and bored expression in their face. Times have changed. Today the ATTAIN lab is a hub of student activity. Alex, the lab coordinator

What happened?

Alex, the lab coordinator played a good part in the transformation of the lab activities. He initiated new and exciting programs for new and existing students. The students in turn became enthusiastic and made greater demands on his creativity.

The result: ‘Summer Start’ prepared lots of students for GED; actually 20 students passed the GED exam. Regular lab sessions increased the literacy and math skills of several students who advanced to vocational training in the Center. Ouro-sama got admitted in CCNY and Jose is taking Auto-Mechanic training elsewhere. Alex, the lab coordinator

As she is searching for a good job, she worked part time as Lab Assistant at the Bronx EOC, helping her student colleagues. ‘I am back at the school that trained me, I am proud’.
