Registration and Advisement

Registration

  • Registration for the pre-clinical courses may be completed online using eSIMS.
  • Registration for PHM-10 is done after achieving a minimum score of 35 in arithmetic (M1) and a minimum score of 40 in algebra (M2) on the CUNY COMPASS Placement Test or CUNY Math exemption.
  • Students who are accepted into PHM 10 can check their status by the date specified at the nursing program.

Registration for the clinical sequence (NUR 41/42) is completed on one specific day prior to each semester. This date is announced in writing, posting and in a BCC broadcast. Students are selected by the admission committee based on evaluation of each student’s file.

Clinical experiences for the nursing courses take place off campus and students may be required to attend clinical agency orientation for specified agencies before the semester begins. In addition, students must provide their own transportation to all off-campus assignments.

Advisement

Advisement for students interested in the nursing program is available throughout the semester by the nursing program faculty and advisors. Advisement is held on campus and is scheduled on a regular basis.

Students who are ready for the Clinical Nursing Program must see the nursing admissions coordinator and/or faculty for final advisement during the scheduled advisement hours. These hours will be posted on the Pre-Nursing bulletin board in Carl Polowczyk Hall, 4th floor, and will be posted on the BCC website.
