The Program

 

The Registered Nursing program admitted its first class in 1960. It is a 67-credit program leading to an Associate in Applied Sciences Degree (A.A.S.). Nursing courses are leveled over four semesters and can be completed over five semesters of full time study. Upon successful completion of all program requirements, graduates are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) licensure. The RN program is registered by the New York State Education Department and accredited by the *National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).

The Nursing program provides learning experiences, which enables students to become competent in critical thinking, problem solving, and communicating. The students consist of an ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse body whose abilities and needs differ. Ample student support services are available to help assure enriched learning experiences.
