A degree audit is a series of administrative procedures that determine if a student has met degree requirements. The degree audit is the final step before graduation. It is each student's responsibility to ensure that all requirements will be met upon filing the candidate degree card. If all requirements are not met by the end of the final semester of attendance, the student must reapply for graduation in order to be considered for a subsequent semester.
Candidates for graduation must file a candidate degree card, in the Registrar's Office, Colston Hall, Room 513, at the beginning of their final semester of attendance. Please consult the college's academic calendar published each semester in the Schedule of Classes for the filing deadline. Students who file late can not be evaluated on time.
Students must have a passing score on the CUNY ACT Writing Exam and CUNY College Proficiency Exam(CPE).
Students must have a GPA of at least 2.00.
For students (both freshmen and transfer) who enter Bronx Community College in Fall 2004 or later, the college will require for graduation, completion of two designated Writing Intensive(WI) courses chosen from any of the three divisions (i.e., Humanities, Careers and Education, Science and Technology).
Students must meet the minimum number of degree credits required in their curriculum.
Records are sealed after graduation
No changes may be made to the academic record (transcript) after the degree has been awarded. Name changes are not allowed after a student graduated.
Transcripts reflecting the award of your degree
A statement of the degree awarded will be posted on student's official transcript before the student receives their diploma. If you want the transcript request to be held until the degree is posted, be sure to specify that on your transcript request. All obligations whether academic and/or financial must be cleared before your records will be released.
