ART 10 — Art Survey— 2 hr/1 cr

Survey of art in selected historical periods of Western Civilzation.
Note: Not open to students taking ART 11 or ART 12.
Corequisite: ENG 02 or RDL 02, if required.

ART 11 — Introduction to Art — 3 hr/3 cr

Survey of our artistic heritage from the classical period of Western civilization to Modern Art. Discussion of social and philosophical influences. Art museum visits.
Corequisite:
ENG 02 or RDL 02, if required.

ART 55 — Modern Art — 3 hr/3 cr

Important movements in modern art, including impoessionism, Post impressionism, Expressionism, Cubism, Dada, Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art, Minimal Art, Conceptual Art and modern architecture, Lectures, films and visits to museums, art galleries, architectural monuments.
Prerequisite:
ART 11 or by departmental permission

ART 56 — Graphic and Digital Design History — 3 hr/3 cr

Study of 19th and 20th century commercial and advertising design exploring concurrent connections to developments in Modern Art. Course work will include exams, written reports as well as museum visits.
Prerequisites: ART 11 or by departmental permission
