ASAP

Income Eligibility

ASAP Income Eligibility Guidelines

To be eligible to participate in ASAP, applicants must receive some need-based financial aid as determined through completion of the Federal Assistance for Student Aid (FAFSA) form and a New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application. Note that students may not participate in both College Discovery and ASAP.

How to Establish Income Eligibility

All applicants must submit a financial aid application (FAFSA and HESC) for the academic year. Note that establishing income eligibility is a requirement and must be done as soon as possible. To this end, early financial aid application is strongly recommended. In general, it may take about two to four weeks for students to receive a financial aid award letter.

Students who, because of immigration status, cannot file for financial aid should contact the program staff for alternate forms of income verification.

Recent changes in family income (as a result of job loss, divorce, death, disability, adoption, loss of benefits, etc.) that may make an applicant eligible for ASAP should be documented. Contact the program staff for details.
