Ever consider acting? Set design?
The Theatre Workshop provides a unique opportunity for BCC students with a desire to explore the artistry of the live theatre. At the beginning of the semester, interested students meet to choose the semester’s play and arrange for auditions. Students interested in acting are invited
as well as students interested in costume or set deigning, lighting or sound design, stage management or directing. In addition to participating in the preparation and production of the play, workshop members
explore outstanding theatre events taking place in the city and region.
The Workshop meets every Thursday during club hours. Students who are cast in the production meet 3-4 times per week. The theatre workshop is mentored by John Socas, a faculty member of the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences. All interested students who wish to join the Theatre Workshop should contact Mr. Socas (Colston Hall 708A, 718-289-5763, firstname.lastname@example.org). Recent productions by the Theatre Workshop include:
The Foreigner by Larry Shue
12 Angry Jurors by Reginald Rose
Tartuffe by Molière
A Midsummer Night’s Dream, by William Shakespeare
