Dr. Melissa Coss Aquino’s research focus is on Latino/a Literature and American Autobiography. She teaches a wide range of courses from writing intensives such as ENG 121, Introduction to Creative Writing, ENG 147, Latino/a Literature to ENG 111, 112 and FYS. Dr. Coss Aquino worked closely with FYS and Learning Communities over the years to ensure alignment with best practices for first year student retention as well as expanded course offerings in the evenings and on weekends with hybrid models. Her ENG 112, is a research course centered on the origins of fairy tales, and incorporates the use of ePortfolio. Finally, she is the co-faculty advisor for Thesis, the literary journal of Bronx Community College.
