To the College Community:
As part of a continuing effort to improve system security / availability at BCC and in order to provide Students, Faculty and Staff with new services (i.e. password self-reset, single sign-on, etc.), the IT Department needs to upgrade its current domain infrastructure. This operation will take place during the weekend of March 14th - March 15th.
Beginning at 5:00 PM on Friday, March 14th, the following IT-related services [OSSES, College Website, Email Services, Internet and Databases] will be disrupted campus wide. However, all services will be fullyrestored by 5:00 PM onSaturday, March 15th. Please note that this is a 24-hour period of sporadic phases during which our different systems and services will go on and off. As always, we will do our best to minimize these outages and perform most of the work during off-peak hours (11:00PM -7:00AM).
Once completed, this upgrade will give us the required infrastructure to implement exciting new services which will benefit the entire College community. For instance, we know that you have been struggling with managing your different passwords. The Department of Information Technology has heard you and soon you will be able to perform password resets anytime, anywhere and from any device (mobile included) without having to contact the IT Help Desk.
