The Road to Energy Independence
All Roads Lead to the Fall Alternative Vehicle Technology Conference

Bronx Community College, Friday, October 5th, 2007
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

The Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE) convenes its 3rd annual conference on Alternative Vehicle Technology on Friday, October 5, 2007 on the historic campus of The City University of New York’s Bronx Community College.  New York City’s fleet managers and alternative technology companies have the opportunity to get up to speed on one of the world’s fastest evolving industries. The latest technologies and retrofitting strategies will be presented by our panel of leading experts during What’s Under the Hood. Our second panel discussion will outline the policies and incentives that can get companies Behind the Wheel of green trucks, cars, vans and buses. Case studies from fleet managers who are already on the road to energy independence will be presented with opportunity for audience participation. Keynote speaker Mary Ann Wright, CEO for the Johnson Controls joint venture with the French battery manufacturer Saft, will address The Future of Alternative Vehicles.

CSE will also present their “Sustainable Energy Pioneer Award” in the categories of private citizen, private business and public entity. This year, members of the press were asked to assist in the selection of the nominees in recognition of parties whose work reduces our consumption of energy. Participants will have the opportunity to network with industry and government leaders during facilitated lunch discussions and throughout the day as the conference celebrates the College’s 50th anniversary with displays of the best of our past vehicles together with the technology of the present.

The 2007 Conference is in collaboration with the New York City Department of Transportation, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, the New York City & Lower Hudson Valley Clean Communities, the New York City Chapter of the National Association of Fleet Administrators, and Bronx Congressman José E. Serrano.
