Instructors

Jonathan Lane
CEO, Quad State Solar

Jonathan has been in the solar business for seven years and has been teaching the PV Installation Class at the Center for Sustainable Energy since 2004. He is a NABCEP certified installer.

Jonathan founded Quad State Solar in 2001 to provide design, sales, installation, project management and consulting services to the PV marketplace. He is experience with all major brands of solar panels, inverters, rails and mounting systems, wiring hubs, and control units. He designs, procures, installs and configures components and systems from all major manufactures. He has a hands-on knowledge of all major manufacturers’ and many third party providers’ software packages that are applicable to the industry.

One of his recent projects included approximately 2 dozen individual grid-intertied, net-metered, residential PV systems ranging in size from 2.4 to 10.08kW DC. All aspects and phases of project design, development, permitting, contractor and vendor selection, installation, commissioning, underwriting, inspecting, and rebating.

Ron Stephan
Design Engineer
Solar Energy Systems, LLC

Ron graduated from the FHTW Berlin, University of Applied Science with a degree in Environmental Engineering/Regenerative Energies. He did his dissertation at the University of Ceara State in Brazil on solar termal cooling system designs for Northern Brazil.

Prior to coming to Solar Energy Systems, Ron worked for Conergy AG in Germany on product management of mounting systems for photovoltaic systems.

Hugo Pedernera
Mercury Solar
Project Manager

Hugo has been active in all facets of photovoltaic projects for over 14 years. He received an Electro Mechanical Technician Degree from the National University of Cordoba, Argentina, and is completing a BS in Electrical Engineering from Farmingdale State University.

Hugo has worked for Solar Energy Systems , Odyne and altPower, designing and installing commercial and residential turnkey projects. His expertise is in project analysis, strategy, planning and logistics.
