The History Department at Bronx Community College invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2018. Candidates should have a specialization in Latin American History and also be able to teach History of the Modern World and/or World Regional Geography. The position also entails engagement with assessment and professional development; student advisement; departmental and college service including committee, administrative, supervisory, and other functions; and continued progress in the scholarship and research of the successful candidate’s area(s) of expertise. Evening, early morning or weekend teaching may be required.


Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant college teaching experience
- Experience with instructional technologies
- Experience with course assessment
