TUTOR SELECTION CRITERIA
- A GPA of 3.0 or better
- Passed the CUNY Proficiency Test
- Earned a grade of B or better in English courses
- Taken a minimum of two content courses in the assigned tutoring department with a grade of B or better
- Have high level of English verbal skills during interviews
- Have a referral or be recommended by at least one faculty member and/or tutor supervisor in the content area
- Available for two hour blocks of time to schedule tutoring
- Demonstrated interest and enthusiasm for teaching and tutoring
Bilingual skills are an asset*
*It is helpful, but optional, to have bilingual skills
