Preventing Plagiarism in the Technology Era
Tuesday, February 26, 2013
(CTLT) Philosophy Hall, 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Instructor: Albert Robinson/Dr. J. Juechter
Available Seats = 15 | Waiting List = 0
When students have digital research tools such as Wikipedia, ProQuest, Answers.com, Britannica.com, Essaymania, LexisNexis, and Ebscohost easily available, it is very tempting to plagiarize, and the results are even more difficult for faculty to detect. In addition, newly minted cheat sites and paper mills offer a variety of scholastic papers to tempt students for a price. This workshop will provide pragmatic information on technology solutions as well as a discussion of academic approaches that help prevent students from following the easy path of plagiarism. Plagiarism resources available on campus and online will be also discussed.
