BCC Student Text Messaging Disclosure

Student Text Messaging (SMS) Communication Policy

Bronx Community College (BCC) may use text messaging (SMS) to communicate important, non-marketing information to students. These messages may include academic reminders, advising notifications, registration updates, and operational alerts that support the student experience.

By providing a mobile phone number to the College through admissions, registration, or other official systems, students consent to receive these informational text messages. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of enrollment, and standard message and data rates may apply.

Message frequency will vary based on student activity and College communications.

Students may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. For assistance, students may reply HELP or contact the College directly.

The College does not use SMS for advertising or promotional purposes. All information is managed in accordance with applicable privacy regulations, including FERPA.
