Study abroad for a week, a month, or a semester.

It is never too early to start planning if you are interested in studying or volunteering abroad in 2019-2020.  From BCC programs in Austria, Senegal, and England to more than 160 other CUNY-sponsored programs around the globe, there are exciting and imaginative options from a wide variety of academic areas, including literature, history, the social sciences, economics, culture, philosophy and ethics, the sciences, and communications.

The CUNY study abroad experience is, to say the least, life-changing.”

~ A BCC student comments after an inter-session study abroad program in Argentina.

Scholarships are available, including the Chancellor’s Global Scholar and the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship.  Community college students are encouraged to apply.

If service learning appeals to you, there is the Michael Steuerman Legacy Fund Scholarship to volunteer in a country and program of your own choosing.  You can “give back” while experiencing a different culture with students from around the world. BCC students in the past have worked in orphanages (Peru and Cambodia), hospitals (Ghana, Jamaica, Sri Lanka, and Kenya), and have built houses for Habitat for Humanity (Malawi).

A Study and Volunteer Information Session will be held in early September.
Watch the BCC Broadcast for details.
