A FLOCK OF TURKEYS FOR BCC STUDENTS

  Feature, News   •

Thanksgiving came to Bronx Community College three days early this year, as Municipal Credit Union and the BCC Foundation partnered with Single Stop for the College’s Second Annual Holiday Turkey Raffle for students and their families. All it took was a student ID and being present at the Hall of Fame Playhouse in the Roscoe Brown Student Center at noon on Monday, November 9, for a chance at one of 50 turkeys provided by MCU as part of their own annual turkey drive that for the eighth year distributed hundreds of holiday birds across the city.

The event was energetically emceed by Clifford Marshall of the Office of Student Success, who handed out turkeys to students with winning numbers of correct answers to BCC trivia questions. Said one lucky winner, a nursing student named Stephanie, planned on sharing her turkey with “my family, my grandma, my kids,” observing, “I don’t really win a lot of things, so I was excited!”
