Academic Calendar Terminology

e-Permit / Permit — E-permit facilitates the process of CUNY students obtaining permission to register for courses offered at other CUNY colleges.

Financial Aid Enrollment Status Certification date — Your financial aid eligibility is determined based on your enrollment status as of this date.

INC GradeThe deadline for a student to resolve a temporary grade (INC) by completing coursework shall be the end of the semester immediately following the one in which the grade was given (Exclusive of Summer Term). The INC grade will automatically convert from INC to FIN (Failing from Incomplete) at the end of the semester immediately following the one in which the grade was given. The student or instructor may appeal this administrative action. An FIN grade counts as a failure and will impact the GPA.

R2T4 60% – A student becomes eligible for 100% of their financial aid funds upon completing more than 60% of the enrollment period.

VOE (Verification of Enrollment) – Faculty must verify your enrollment in their class in order to determine WN grades (see below).

W Grade – You may withdraw from classes after the last day to drop for a 25% tuition refund, up until the final withdrawal deadline. You will receive a ‘W’ grade, which will not be calculated into your GPA. Please note that students who officially withdraw from a course during this period are not eligible for a tuition refund.

WA Grade – The final grade of WA (administrative withdrawal) is the administrative action taken due to non-compliance with State and University immunization or vaccination requirements. Students are financially liable for courses in which they receive a grade of WA.

WD grade — If you withdraw from a course after the Financial Aid Enrollment Status Certification date but before the last day to drop a course for a 25% tuition refund, you will receive a ‘WD’ grade. This grade will not appear on your official transcript and will not affect your GPA.

WN grade — A ‘Withdrawn/Never Attended’ (WN) grade will be assigned if the faculty certifies that you never attended the class, as indicated on the Verification of Enrollment Roster. This grade will not appear on your official transcript and will not affect your GPA.
