The Lunch with Leaders series, hosted by Blackstone LaunchPad and the Office of Diversity Services, launched with special guest, Alfredo M. Angueira, Esq. A distinguished lawyer, entrepreneur, and esteemed BCC Foundation Board Member, Angueira is recognized for his significant contributions to the Bronx community.
The series aims to elevate voices from diverse backgrounds and industries, providing a platform for sharing valuable experiences. As the principal partner of several acclaimed dining establishments in The Bronx, Angueira is dedicated to fostering community engagement through various initiatives. His leadership extends beyond the culinary world; he has played an essential role in local economic development and has served on several boards, including Bronx Community College Foundation and the New York City Hospitality Alliance.
Participants – including students, staff and faculty – gained valuable insights into Angueira’s journey, including his philosophy on the importance of perseverance, adapting business strategies in response to evolving social landscapes and re-inventing oneself. “I want to convey a message of empowerment,” Angueira said. “Coming from BCC and the Bronx, there is the possibility to do so many things. A variety of factors that a lot of people see as challenges really offer a wealth of opportunity if you know how to harness them – from the diversity of the network provided, to education to support.”
