Obed Gyedu Larbi’s acceptance into one of the nation’s top colleges comes as a surprise to very few. As an ASAP student now turned alumnus, the recent Bronx Community College (BCC) graduate exhibited true leadership and overall academic achievement, as well as a genuine interest in his community. In his first semester at BCC, Obed co-founded Project Feed NYC, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the homeless.

While at BCC, Obed was involved in student government after being elected senator and treasurer for the 2018/2019 term.  Being an ASAP student since the Fall of 2017, Obed also served as a peer mentor, assisting his fellow students navigate and utilize college resources.

Despite his active involvement on campus and in his community, Obed maintained a G.P.A of 3.96, earning the prestigious Kaplan Education Foundation Scholarship and becoming a semifinalist for the Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship.

After receiving scholarships from several universities including Georgetown University, University of Michigan, Northeastern University, and the University of Richmond, Obed has decided to attend Yale University on a full seven year scholarship.
