Blackstone LaunchPad and BXEDC Host Bronx Creators Panel to Celebrate Innovation, Resiliency in the Borough

Creators PanelBlackstone LaunchPad, in collaboration with The Bronx Economic Development Corporation (BXEDC), hosted an inspiring panel discussion for students, faculty and staff featuring local entrepreneurial artists and business owners who have transformed their passions into thriving ventures. Held in the North Hall Law Library at Bronx Community College (BCC), the event, moderated by BXEDC President Rob Walsh, spotlighted local talent and fostered connections within the student community. 

“We are so grateful to Rob and the panelists, all of whom have strong ties to the Bronx and embody the spirit of innovation, for taking the time to participate in this event and truly inspire our BCC community by sharing their personal journeys,” said BCC’s Vice President of Advancement, Communications & External Relations Eddy Bayardelle.

Amaurys Grullon – Founder, Bronx Native
Amaurys Grullon, an artist and creative social entrepreneur from the South Bronx, shared his journey as Co-Founder and CEO of Bronx Native and Tag Up Studios. His dedication to elevating the community through his non-profit, Change the Narrative, exemplifies the power of social change and cultural advancement.

Gregory Hernandez – Founder, Green Canvas Production
Gregory Hernandez, a filmmaker and video producer, highlighted the importance of collaborative storytelling in his works, including the impactful documentary “1.5 Million,” which addresses the literacy crisis in the Bronx. As the founder of Green Canvas Productions and The Bronx Independent Cinema Center, he continues to create inclusive artistic spaces. 

Tiffany Gomez – Founder, Gomez Design Studio
Tiffany Gomez, a sustainable artist and designer, captivated attendees with her innovative approach to transforming construction waste into beautiful art and furniture. With a background in interior architecture, she challenges industry norms and promotes environmental awareness.

BCC students had the chance to network with the panelists, learn, and gain inspiration from real-world experiences. The event celebrated the achievements of local business leaders and emphasized the importance of mentorship and community support in nurturing future entrepreneurs.
