Breast Cancer Awareness
Join us for our Breast Cancer Awareness initiative, Pink Power: Strength & Solidarity, a series of events dedicated to raising awareness and supporting those affected by breast cancer, while promoting early detection and prevention.
On Monday, October 21st, from 11:00am-2:00pm, in collaboration with The Office of Health Services, Womxn Up, the African Student Association, the Office of Student Diversity Initiatives, and St. Barnabas Hospital, we will host a mammography event for women aged 40 and above. This event aims to provide access to free mammograms, especially for those who may not have access to routine healthcare. To ensure the event’s success, we need at least 10-15 women registered by Thursday, October 17th. Interested participants can sign up using the RSVP link below.
On Thursday, October 24th, from 12:00-2:00pm, join us for the main Pink Power: Strength & Solidarity event in North Hall, Room 123, and the Lobby. The event will feature a panel of speakers, including breast cancer survivors and healthcare professionals, who will share their personal stories, discuss the importance of early detection, and provide insights on prevention and treatment options. After the presentations, we will host a solidarity march in the Quad, where participants can come together in a united effort to raise awareness for breast cancer.
The dress code for the event is pink, symbolizing support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so we encourage everyone to WEAR PINK as a show of solidarity.
This event is co-hosted by ASA, Womxn Up, the BCC Office of Student Diversity Initiatives, NYPIRG, Public Safety, and the Office of Student Life. All BCC students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend. Let’s unite in strength, solidarity, and support for this important cause.
We look forward to your participation in these impactful events!
