Campus Employment –
Federal Work-Study

The Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program gives students an opportunity to gain valuable work experience while attending college or a career school. And unlike a federal student loan, you don’t have to pay this money back! Start by filing your FAFSA and checking the appropriate box on the FAFSA form to be considered for Federal Work-study job opportunities. Second step is to meet with a BCC Financial Aid Adviser. The Financial Aid office is located on the fifth floor of Colston Hall.

Internships

An internship is a working and learning experience for individuals who want to gain hands-on training in their chosen field. For students or recent graduates, an internship can help you break into the industry of your chosen major. Most internships are temporary assignments that can last from three months up to a year and can sometimes even lead to an offer of full-time employment. An internship is an excellent way to gain experience, but it can also help you determine if a particular industry/profession is the best career option for you. Interns not only gain practical work experience and knowledge of themselves, but also build an understanding of corporate cultures, professional behavior, differences in work styles, and international business settings.

Jobs search

Our goal is to prepare students for the world of work through direct experience. We assist students and recent graduates with preparing for and securing part-time and full-time employment. These employment opportunities range from jobs directly related to the majors offered at BCC to non-major related jobs. Students in need of immediate employment can receive assistance as well. To qualify for a job in your field of study, we recommend you reach out to the office to schedule an appointment with your career specialist who will guide you with the necessary steps.
