Commencement by Mail
The closing of the Bronx Community College campus meant the canceling of Commencement — but nothing can stop the diplomas earned by our students.
On Thursday, October 15, a dozen volunteers from BCC’s Office of Student Success, Registrar’s Office, Disability Services, Student Life, Financial Aid, Public Safety and the Access Resource Center (ARC) spent the day packaging and mailing diplomas to graduates of the Classes of Fall 2019, Winter 2020 and Spring 2020. The day-long effort in the Roscoe Brown Student Center cafeteria and the Registrar’s Office observed all the COVID-19 safety protocols while preparing some 650 diplomas for delivery by UPS.
“It was a highly spirited event,” said Assistant Registrar Syria Carrington. “Something that could have been a monotonous task was joyful because of those who were involved in helping to get the graduates their well-deserved diplomas.”
