April isCUNY Disability Awareness Month, and we invite you to join us for a series of engaging events designed to foster understanding and inclusivity.   

Explore the power of aromatherapy, learn basic ASL to communicate more effectively, and express yourself through art in our ‘Painting Disability’ workshop.

Mark your calendars for these exciting events:  

Healing Scents: Discovering Inclusivity Through Aromatherapy
In this event, you’ll learn about the therapeutic benefits of various essential oils and their importance in promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and enhancing overall wellness. Cecelia will join us From Aveli Wellness. Who will guide us on how aromatherapy can be a tool to calm our minds and heal our bodies.

Hands-On Inclusion: Basic ASL for Inclusivity 
Come broaden your horizons, celebrate diversity, and embark on a journey of empathy and inclusion as we bridge the gap through the universal language of sign. This event is more than just learning signs; it’s about understanding the cultural nuances, history, and unique perspectives of the Deaf community. Yvette from Adapt Community Networking participants are excited to share their experiences as New Yorkers with Disabilities.

Artistic Expression: Painting Beyond Limits
Whether you’re an experienced artist or a first-time painter, this event is for everyone. Let your brush strokes tell a story as we celebrate the diversity and resilience of individuals with disabilities through the universal language of art. It will be hosted by our wonderful Mary Morfe & Brilliant Charles Mendoza, who will lead the event with a brief speech.
