University Business Story – Read about President Johnnson’s vision for workforce innovation and BCC’s collaboration with K-12 systems to focus on career readiness in the younger grades.

“At Bronx Community College, the lion’s share of students are focused on career programs that prepare them directly for work,” Dr. Johnson said. And his mission is bold: “We want to make sure that this work will lead people to family sustaining wages. That to me is why we exist.”

From scaling workforce programs and employer partnerships to launching STEM-focused initiatives that begin as early as fifth grade, Dr. Johnson is setting a course for BCC to become both a hub of academic excellence and a workforce engine for New York City.
