Bhaskaran, Sunil

Dr. Sunil Bhaskaran is a Professor in applied geomatics at Bronx Community College. He specializes in feature extraction, imaging spectroscopy, image and spatial analyses of multi-resolution space borne and air borne data. He is the founding director of the Bronx Community College Geospatial Center of the City University of New York-CREST Institute (BGCCCI) which is a satellite institute formed under a collaboration with the CUNY CREST Institute and Bronx Community College. He spearheaded the development of Geospatial Technology in the College and CUNY since 2010. He has published widely in journals and proceedings of conferences and is the principal investigator of major grant awards from the National Science Foundation and Australian Research Council. He serves on CUNY’s Research Advisory Board Council, technical committee of the IEEE-IGARSS and New York Mayor’s Committee on Resilience and Recovery.
