Blanchard, Frank

Frank D. Blanchard was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and lived in the Midwest for many years before arriving in New York in 1991. He worked in commercial painting for Evergreene and for several independent decorative painters, including Ann Harris. He was part of the crew that painted the Richard Haas mural on the front of the Byham Theater in Pittsburgh, PA, and designed a set of murals for a room in Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas. Frank has exhibited his work extensively. He had a solo show at the Organization of Independent Artists’ Gallery 402, and his first Passion series of twenty-four panels was featured in an exhibition at JHS Gallery in Taos, New Mexico. Paintings from that series continue to be featured in books, magazines, and online publications. They were also the subject of a book by Kittredge Cherry (Berkeley, CA: Apocryphile Press, 2014). His work can be found in public collections including the Leslie Lohman Museum of Art in downtown Manhattan, as well as in many private collections around the world from Paris, Texas, to Sydney, Australia, to London and New York.
