Dr. Julie Bolt is an interdisciplinary and inter-sectional writer and teacher, as well as a poet. Some of her creative work can be found online at Slow Trains Literary Journal or Red River Review, among others. She is interested in history and process of social change through multiple literary genres, postcolonial and anti-colonial literatures, Native American literature and studies, historicizing the poetry of social change from British Romanticism and throughout the Americas until the present, Diasporic literatures, creative writing, and representations of Nonhuman Animals. Recently she has been working on a book called Animal Others, Animal Selves: A Cultural Studies Exploration of Non-Human Animals in Human Society.
