Dr. Kevin John Bozelka writes about rock music, the Hollywood musical, and pornography. He recently published an essay for La Furia Umana called “Musicals and Musicality: The Films of Richard Quine.” He will soon publish a piece on the work of gay pornographic film pioneer Jerry Douglas and is finishing a book manuscript entitled Rock Killed the Hollywood Musical: The Myth of Genre Death. Dr. Bozelka’s research and teaching interests include Film, Popular Music, Genre and Queer Studies. Dr. Bozelka holds a Ph.D. in Media Studies from the University of Texas (Austin) and an M.A.in Art History and Communication Studies from McGill University.
