Briggs, Monique

Dr. Monique Renée Briggs is a pianist and an Associate Professor of Music at Bronx Community College. Her interpretation of works by Debussy garnered multiple prizes from the French Piano Institute, which presented her in a solo recital of French repertoire at La Schola Cantorum in Paris. As a chamber musician, Dr. Briggs performs with the di.vi.sion piano trio. More information can be found at: https://division-artsandeducation.org

An advocate of new music, she regularly collaborates with composers, premiering and recording their works. Dr. Briggs is the recipient of three PSC-CUNY Research Award Grants and is a member of the International Alliance for Women in Music (IAWM). She has also served as Concert Director for the BCC Concert Series, which is available on the college’s YouTube channel at: BCC Concert Series
