David, Karen

Karen David is a Professor of Economics in the Social Sciences Department at Bronx Community College, CUNY. She began teaching at BCC in 2018 as an adjunct and was appointed as a full-time lecturer in the fall of 2022. She holds a graduate degree in Economics from New York University’s Graduate School of Arts and Science.
With over 20 years of teaching experience, Professor David brings both deep expertise and a strong commitment to student success. Her teaching philosophy is student-centered, emphasizing active engagement, critical thinking, and the practical application of economic concepts. One of her focuses is on making economics more accessible and relevant. In the spring of 2024, she completed the Open Educational Resources (OER) development course and edited and remixed an OER macroeconomics textbook tailored specifically to her course—ensuring students have access to high-quality, no-cost learning materials designed with their needs in mind.
