Kessler Eng, Donna

Dr. Donna Kessler-Eng earned a Ph.D. in English from the CUNY Graduate Center. Her dissertation, “Letting Nature Run Its Course: Thoreau’s Walden as Experimental Cure,” is a study of Walden and antebellum American medical and cultural discourse. Her publications, conference presentations, and research reflect her interests in the history of American medicine, literature and medicine, learning communities, pedagogy, and strategies for community college students’ academic success. She teaches developmental writing, composition, and literature and medicine courses. Dr. Donna Kessler-Eng currently coordinates Bronx Community College’s Developmental Writing Program, and Bronx Community College’s Tutorial Intervention Program. She is a member of CUNY Central’s Developmental Writing Advisory Committee, and CUNY’s Writing Discipline Council.
