Professor Ortiz is an Assistant Professor in Radiologic Technology at Bronx Community College. She is a nationally registered Radiologic Technologist in both Radiography and Computed Tomography. She is currently licensed to practice Radiography in New York State. Her career began in 2004 and she worked for years as a technologist, specializing in Vascular Interventional Radiography and Computed Tomography. In 2010, she joined Bronx Community College as a Substitute Lecturer before becoming an Assistant Professor in 2013 in Radiologic Technology. Prof. Ortiz has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. She is a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.
