Reynoso, Nelson

Dr. Nelson Reynoso is a Psychology Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at Bronx Community College of the City Univrsity of New York.

Dr. Reynoso is a founding member of the Dominican Studies Institute at the City College and a founding member of the Association of Latino Faculty and Staff at Bronx Community College. He has held public office in the Board Trustee in the Board of Education in Bergenfield, New Jersey Department of education.

His teaching philosophy is student-centered, emphasizing culturally relevant material and student growth. As educators, het recognizes, affirms, and responds to students’ differences and provides instruction that is responsive to their cultural needs. Integrating a culturally responsive teaching philosophy in his teaching has enabled him to connect with students in a deeper way. Following this approach, he helps his students eliminate barriers to learning and achievement and open doors to their achievement and to reach their full potential. Dr. Reynoso uses a series of culturally contextual teaching methodologies to engage students in the learning process
