Dr. Marjaline Sosa, Ed.D is a Lecturer in Criminal Justice at Bronx Community College. She began her career at BCC in the Office of Human Resources, in 2006 and transitioned her way to teaching in the Department of Social Sciences, in 2012. She is currently the faculty coordinator for the Criminal Justice program, served as a member of the Association of Latino Faculty and Staff (ALFS), and represented Social Sciences on the Committee of Academic Standing for several semesters. As a Bronx native, she takes pride in educating future criminal justice professionals. She believes that educators are the pathway between dreams and achievements for students.
She graduated from Northeastern University with a doctoral degree in Education. She explored the best teaching practices for Criminal Justice students in Bronx Community College, during Covid. Her research interest is police stress and criminology, more particularly understanding the causes and patterns of crime. She served as an Auxiliary Police Officer in NYPD Transit District 12, in the Bronx, NY.
Born and raised in the Bronx, she appreciates delicious meals. She enjoys traveling with her family and watching action movies.
