Dr. John R. Ziegler is an Assistant Professor of English at Bronx Community College and has called the Bronx home since 2005. He received his B.A. and M.A. in English from Seton Hall University in NJ and his Ph.D. in English from Fordham University, with a dissertation focusing on the socioeconomic implications of depictions of court masques on the commercial stage in early modern England. Currently, he divides his scholarship between the popular and material cultures of the sixteenth/seventeenth and twentieth/twenty-first centuries, and he has published work on Shakespeare and other early modern English drama and literature, zombies, ghosts, and video games. He also reviews theater for the website Culture Catch and co-edits the journal Supernatural Studies. At Bronx Community College, he most often teaches classes in the composition sequence, such as ENG 02, ENG 111, ENG 112, and ENG 115; “Shakespeare”; and “Great Writers of English Literature I.”
