Hilary Pitter Awarded UNCF Associates Scholars Empowerment Program Scholarship

UNCF - A mind is a terrible thing to wasteDr. Sara Brady, Chair of the Department of Communications Arts and Sciences, announced that Hilary Pitter, a Radiologic Technology student, has received a $2,500 scholarship.

The scholarship was awarded by the UNCF Associates Scholars Empowerment Program which is open to Black/African American students at 2-year institutions that have a minimum 2.25 GPA.

Daughters of Charity Inc., in partnership with UNCF, created the Associates Scholars Empowerment Program to assist Black/African American students pursuing a certificate or an Associate’s degree. This year, the program is awarding 50 students with need-based scholarships of up to $2,500.

Ms. Pitter’s scholarship is for the 2022-2023 academic year and can be renewed for an additional year.

She thanked Professor Theresa Smalec in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences for sending a letter of recommendation to the UNCF that enabled her to receive this scholarship.
