Meet Bruno, Our New BCC ChatBot for Students

BrunoBCC has a new ChatBot named Bruno. Bruno will help answer student questions, providing you with instant information in many key areas of the college.


How does it work?

Bruno provides answers to student questions around Academic Support, Admissions, Advising and Registrar, to the Bursar’s Office, Financial Aid and Online Programs.

Bruno is accessible on the homepage of the BCC website and on the corresponding website pages of the seven areas mentioned above (Academic Support, Admissions, Advising, Registrar, Bursar’s Office, Financial Aid, Online Programs). Bruno also can be found on the BCC app.

If the question isn’t immediately recognized by this AI agent, you will be connected to a trained live agent during regular business hours. If no agent is available, you will be asked to submit a ticket and can expect a reply within 48 hours.

Finding Bruno on the app

Open your BCC app.
Select the Gould Memorial Library icon () on the bottom navigation.
Then select the “Ask chatbot Bruno” icon

Bruno responds best to clear, concise questions

Please ask questions as simply and clearly as possible. For instance, instead of asking Bruno, “Can somebody tell me if class is taking place on Columbus Day this year?”, it would be better to ask, “How do I know when the college is closed for a holiday?

If you still have questions after using the ChatBot, we encourage you to reach out to your advisor or to a representative in the area in which your are inquiring. We want our students to know that BCC staff and faculty are always available to assist.

At the same time, we are aware that chatbots lack empathy and therefore the ability to forge the human bonds that are so vital when it comes to student learning and wellbeing. As with many things in life, we advise a blended, balanced approach.
