The lecture was entitled “Plant Cure: Explorations in Art and Science – Medicinal Plants.” The presentation focused on Professor Murray’s body of artwork including watercolors and ceramic sculptures depicting medicinal plants including geraniums. Her artwork is part of a larger project curated by Maddy Rosenberg called “Plant Cure.”
Professor Murray’s work is in national and international collections including Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris; Brooklyn Museum; Library of Congress; Munson Williams Proctor Art Institute, Utica, NY; Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; and other public and private collections.
The presentation was made possible by the Artists for Community Enrichment (ACE) program, a component of the BRIO fellowships awarded by The Bronx Council on the Arts along with the Art and Music Department of BCC.
