Dr. Barbara Flores-Caballero, Faculty Advisor and Associate Professor in BCC’s Education and Academic Literacy Department just published her new book, “Leadership With Vision And Heart”

BCC’s Melanie Robles, Director of ASAP, and Tica Frazer, Associate Director of the First Year Program, co-authored and contributed a chapter to a newly-published book “Strategies for Student Success in Higher Education: The First-Year Experience”, which brings together leading-edge research and practical insights around the first-year experience in higher education.  


Prithi Kanakamedala, Associate Professor of History at BCC, has published Brooklynites: The Remarkable Story of the Free Black Communities that Shaped a Borough and recently had her work featured in Brooklyn Magazine and on NYU’s website. Brooklynites follows Black Brooklynites who defined New York City’s most populous borough through their search for social justice.  


Congratulations to BCC’s Office of Career Development Career Specialist Ms. Perla Tolentino on  being recognized by the ABNY Young Professionals this September for her work improving education access and outcomes for students. Perla works tirelessly at BCC to prepare students across all of the Perkins degree and non-degree programs for internships and jobs, in areas as varied as MLT and Cybersecurity.  Her commitment to our students is an inspiration and model for us all.
