Govardhan Ecovillage in India

“Distance learning” truly went the distance in two recent webinars organized by Dr. Neal Phillip, Chairperson of the BCC Department of Chemistry, Earth Sciences and Environmental Sciences, and Professor Paramita Sen.

“Climate Change Monitoring Through Ice Cores from Antarctica and Greenland” streamed live on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. It featured researchers who went to the frozen continent and the images and insights they brought back with them. BCC participants were joined by viewers in India, Switzerland, Canada and the Dominican Republic. That event can be seen here:

On October 2, 2020, intrepid New Yorkers were at their computer screens at 7:00 a.m. for a webinar from Townsville, Australia and India’s Govardhan Ecovillage to learn about innovations in sustainability and how our students went to India last year and installed a solar powered weather station that has significantly increased weather coverage in rural India. You don’t have to get up that early to see it here:
